FAQs

What is your cancellation policy for tours?

Our alpaca tours are non refundable. We allow tours to be rescheduled 24hrs in advance. Please contact us to make arrangements. In case of adverse weather conditions, for the safety of our alpacas and guests, we reserve the right to reschedule your experience.

 

What is your return or refund policy?

We accept returns for 30 days, items must be in their original packaging in unused condition. Contact us to determine the nature of your request. We reserve the right to deny a request based on item condition.​

​What is your shipping policy?

Most orders are shipped within 2 business days. Items are shipped via USPS priority mail. If there is a question regarding your order, we will contact you via email.​

Can I bring pets?

Pets are not allowed, we are a working farm, and we employ livestock guardian dogs to help us protect our alpacas, unfortunately, our dogs do not know the difference between a predator and a pet, so we ask our guests to leave their pets at home.

What if it rains?

Our tours are rain or shine, we have barns where the alpacas hang out if it is raining, which are accessible to guests during our guided Educational and Hugs tours, we also have covered pavilions and a covered back porch on our store so guest doing our self guided tours can still enjoy the alpacas.

What if hazardous weather is expected?

If hazardous weather is expected, for the safety our of staff and alpacas  we may reschedule your experience. We will notify you via email as soon as the decision is made, based on the most current weather forecasts.

What  should I wear?

We suggest you dress for the weather, our tours can involve a good bit of walking, comfy, close toed shoes are recommended. For our Alpaca Trail Walk, close toed shoes ARE required.

Can I bring treats for the alpacas?

Outside treats for the alpacas are not allowed, alpacas can have sensitive stomachs and can react to different treats. We provide specially formulated alpaca grain as part of a guided tour, we also have grain dispensers where you can purchase some grain to feed the alpacas.

Do you offer drinks and food?

Our farm store has water, sodas and snacks for sale. You are more than welcome to bring food and enjoy a picnic in either one of our covered pavilions or hike down to Camp Squirrel and have a picnic there. We ask that our guests use one of the trashcans located around to dispose of all trash, this helps us keep the outside critter population down.

About your Alpaca Trail Walk, how old do kids need to be?

Everybody is welcome to participate on our Alpaca Trail Walk, however,  kids under 12 years of age, must be accompanied by an adult, who will be in charge of walking the alpaca.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

We are working on being  ADA compliant, for the time being, give us a call to make arrangements.

What if I have a Paca Chip?

Come by the store, they are applied to in-store purchases only, 1 Paca Chip per visit, minimum purchase of 25.00 necessary.

Do alpacas spit?

Yes, they can, when they feel overwhelmed or are competing for grain.

Liability Notice

Under North Carolina law (Chapter 99E of the General Statutes), there is no liability for an injury to or death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, among others, risks of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury or death. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity.

Serenity Alpacas may take and use photographs, video, film, and other images of you or your children participating in or observing farm activities for use on its website and in publications, social media, promotional flyers, educational materials, derivative works, or for any other similar purpose. By your presence here you consent to Serenity Alpacas using those images and waive any right of privacy, publicity, compensation, copyright, or other rights to those images.
